Brynmawr Youth started the 2019/20 season by winning the Caerphilly Youth 10s Tournament on Sunday 18th August.
In what was a really well organised tournament the lads beat Pontypridd Youth 12-5, Kenfig Hill Youth 53-0 and Caerphilly Youth 22-12 to top the pool and advance to the final against Newbridge Youth.
The final was a full blooded encounter as it is when ever we meet Newbridge, however we proved too strong for them in this competition running out winners 33-5. It was a nice way to start the season.
Special mentions to Ben Jones and Hywel Evans making their debuts for the club and playing a full part in the victories.
Speedy recovery as well to Joe Phillips who picked up a nasty little injury - hopefully he will be back on the field before too long.
A nice start to the season and everyone is looking forward to tough season ahead
